The Parrs Wood
FoodA big 1930s roadside hotel on the corner of Parrs Wood Road and School Lane, run by J.W. Lees. Lots of room inside, sport on TV, a large front garden and a smaller one at the back.
Good to know
- Not on the usual Dozen, but it sits between The Gateway and the village, so it fits an East Didsbury start.
- Opens at noon, so it isn't one for a breakfast start.

History
Previous names: The Parrswood Hotel
Built in the 1930s as a roadside hotel, when Kingsway was the new road into Manchester, and long known as the Parrswood Hotel. It was a Boddingtons house, and later the head office of the Boddington Pub Company. J.W. Lees took it over in December 2014 and refurbished it in 2015, taking out the old vault.
The Capitol Theatre stood across the road. From 1956 to 1968 it was ABC Television's northern studios, and old photos of it hang in the pub. It was knocked down in the late 1990s and replaced with flats.
